Types of Dua:
There are 3 types of Dua in Islam or three stages of a prayer.
Supplication (Dua) means to ask Allah directly for something. There is nothing that Allah cannot do, therefore Dua is basically the means of asking the creator.
Quran teaches us that the best thing to ask for, in all situations, is “Divine Guidance“.
Aspects of a Prayer:
According to the Quran and hadith of Muhammad (P.B.U.H), Dua is classified into following three groups. which are given below:
Either it gets accepted immediately or it gets saved to be accepted for the life after death or it saves us from trouble or disasters but never gets rejected.
3 Stages of Acceptance of Dua:
There are 3 stages of dua acceptance and the detail is given below:
- Immediately acceptance
- Allah bless us with best one
- Preserved for Judgment day
Immediately Acceptance:
You ask for something and you get the same thing immediately. It means your invocation is answered as it is.
Allah Bless us with Best One:
Second type is, you ask for some thing and you get something different. May be more, may be less. May be at a later time after you asked. May be in a different circumstance than you asked. It means your dua is answered according to what Allah Knows to be best for you.
Preserved for Judgment day:
Third type of Dua is, when you ask for something and you don’t get it till the time you die. This is the most precious class of dua because it will be rewarded in the hereafter (judgement day). According to hadith, that when the person whose dua was not answered in his/her life will see the rewards of that dua in the hereafter, he/she will lament and say, “O Allah! You Should have kept all my dua’s stored for me” (Quora.com).
Hadith on Dua:
There is nothing more dear to Allah Almighty than a servant making dua to him. [Tirmidhi]
The person who does not ask from Allah, Allah Almighty becomes angry with him.[Tirmidhi]
Dua is the essence of Ibadah (worship). [Tirmdhi]
The invocation of any one of you is granted [by Allah] as long as he does not show impatience by saying “I have invoked Allah but my request has not been answered.” [Sahih al-Bukhari, Muslim]
In order to get the status of “accepted for Supplication“, following conditions are to be met:
- Sincerity
- Tawassul
- Patience
- Purity
- Good intentions
- Attentive heart
- Sustenance
Ultimately, the faith that Allah will give when there is the right time as He knows all is the key to make Invocation accepted.
